EBS volumes should have recent snapshots for a better, more reliable data backup strategy. The threshold for the time frame between the volume snapshots is 10 days.
1. Login to the AWS Management Console.
2. Elastic Block Store, click Volumes.
3. Actions dropdown button from the dashboard top menu and select Create Snapshot:
4. Create Snapshot dialog box, provide a name and a description for the volume snapshot and click Create.
